CHAPTER ELEVEN

Langfjorden, Norway

Langfjorden in Norway is a fjord thirty-five kilometers long and is part of the large Romsdalsfjord, which begins between the most easterly point on the island of Sekken in Molde Municipality and Okseneset in Rauma Municipality.

The area where it is situated was occupied by the Wehrmacht in World War Two up until the day Germany surrendered. The evidence of their occupation is everywhere, including the old factory and bunker complex which was built into the steep escarpment in one of the more secluded regions of the fjord itself.

The complex was accessed by water and had a dock at the base of the escarpment, where a rail system transferred people and goods up to the factory. It also had a helicopter pad and an AgustaWestland AW101 sitting on it.

At one time during the German occupation, the complex was used in the Reich’s atomic weapons program before the program had been canceled and then restarted just before the end of the war. The scientists who’d worked there had been smuggled out of Norway by the OSS before the Russians could get at them.

Now it was being used as a base for Odin’s Warriors, the hardcore fanatics who would go to any length to enforce their ways on the rest of the civilized world. Right about now, the means they were going to use were death and extortion.

Frigg pressed the button on the intercom and said, “How much longer, Doctor?”

“The dispersal system will be ready in another hour.”

“Good. Let me know when it is, and my people will take it. Then you can start on the others.”

“When can I see my daughter?” Zahra asked.

“When you’ve finished here.”

Frigg turned the intercom off and walked away from the lab. She went upstairs and found Magni looking at an open blueprint on a table. He looked up and asked, “How does it go?”

“It is good. She is almost finished.”

“I’ve been looking at the blueprints for the air conditioning system and it should do what we want it to.”

“Are the chosen ones ready?”

“They have been prepared,” Magni said.

“Then we have time,” Frigg said, stepping closer to Magni.

The killer smiled. “We have some.”

The Odin’s Warriors leader started to take her clothes off. Magni raised an eyebrow. “Here?”

She slapped the table. “Here.”
